It is also recommended not to open any browsers or software at all while gaming, your computer will be getting great power to run games smoothly with this way.

Adjust Windows Power Settings

 
This configuration will affect laptops and desktops because power settings contains power plans for certain situations. Open Power Options in Windows Control Panel, change your power plan to High performance to have your computer consistently run in high performance. Some plans tend to lower CPU power to a certain point if you are browsing or using less than 50% of your CPU.
